  • The Trouble Notes Perform at IYOGA Fest 2026

We are thrilled to announce that Berlin-based trio The Trouble Notes will be performing a very special, exclusive gig at IYOGA Fest 2026.

This is a rare and intimate opportunity to see a band who have played some of Europe's biggest festivals, toured alongside Grammy-winning artists, and amassed over 100 million views of their performances online — all in the beautiful surroundings of YMCA Fairthorne Manor, just for us.

Rachel first discovered The Trouble Notes when she caught them live at Wickham Festival, and was instantly captivated. After crossing paths with violinist Bennet Cerven and the band's manager through a separate project, a friendship formed — and when the opportunity arose to invite them to stop by IYOGA Fest, it felt like a natural and joyful yes.

The band are currently on a UK tour and will be making their way to a major music festival in Czech Republic before returning home to Berlin. We are honoured that they are taking a detour through Hampshire to play for our community.

The Trouble Notes describe their music as "Acoustic Dance Music" — and once you've heard them, you'll understand exactly why. Sitting somewhere between traditional folk, gritty progressive rock and explosive dance music, their sound is utterly their own.

At the heart of the band are violinist Bennet Cerven and guitarist Florian Eisenschmidt, whose musical partnership is the creative force behind everything The Trouble Notes do. Together with whichever drummer joins them on the road, they create something that transcends genre — emotionally charged, culturally rich, and completely irresistible to move to.

Expect to be on your feet.

"The Trouble Notes are like nothing I've ever seen before. Their musical influences take you on a journey around the world. You can't help clap very loudly, tap your feet or spontaneously jig along to their music! An absolute must-see!!"

    — Faye Hatcher, BBC Radio

    Katy Hooper

Katy Hooper is very much part of the IYOGA Fest family — and has been from almost the very beginning. Over four festivals she has graced our evenings with her delicate vocals and fingerpicked guitar, bringing her folk and world-influenced music to a community that has come to love her dearly.

An Australian-British singer-songwriter with roots in many places, Katy's music speaks of the natural world and the people and landscapes encountered through a life of travel. She is also a gifted visual artist, and many festival-goers will know her face not just from the stage but from behind the scenes — Katy has helped with the running and organising of the festival and is very much a familiar presence here.

Her connection to IYOGA Fest runs deeper still: Katy is currently training to become an Iyengar yoga teacher, with Rachel as her mentor. We couldn't be prouder.

While Katy isn't performing this year, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate everything she brings to this festival — on stage, off stage, and on the mat. We hope to welcome her back as a performer in the not-too-distant future.

  • Sound Bath — David Tipper / Earth Resonance (2023)

In 2023, we were delighted to welcome David Tipper of Earth Resonance to offer a deeply restorative sound bath — a perfect complement to a week of yoga practice. A sound therapist, hypnotherapist and yoga and mindfulness teacher, David works with an array of instruments including Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, gong, frame drum and didgeridoo to create an immersive experience of vibration and deep relaxation. Each sound bath is a unique journey, and ours was no exception — a rare opportunity to simply lie back, let go, and be held by sound.

  • Kirtan & Live Music — Devaki & Thomas Thomas / Stunflower (2021)

At our very first festival in 2021, we were treated to a truly special double offering from musical life-partners Devaki and Thomas Thomas. Devaki opened the festival's musical heart with an intimate Kirtan session — a practice she has carried since childhood, growing up in a music-steeped Hare Krishna community in Vancouver, where her father was a pioneering Mantra Rock musician. Her harmonium-led chanting and somatic breath-work created a beautiful space of collective voice and stillness.

Later in the festival, Devaki and Thomas performed together as Stunflower — their London-based project that blends psychedelic folk, reggae, Kirtan and rock into something that is at once deeply personal and utterly joyful. Thomas, born in Trinidad & Tobago and shaped by a remarkable musical life across the Caribbean, the UK and Canada, brings a songwriter's soul and guitarist's fire to everything they create together.
